Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2-3 medium bananas)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, stirring until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before lifting it out using the parchment paper.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour or almond flour.
- Add a teaspoon of cinnamon or a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.
- You can also swirl in some peanut butter or Nutella before baking for a delicious twist.
