- 2 medium courgettes, sliced
- 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
- Add the sliced courgettes to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until slightly tender.
- In a baking dish, layer the courgette mixture and sprinkle cheese between the layers.
- Pour the heavy cream over the top and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half.
- This dish can be served as a side or a main dish with a salad.
