- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with onions and garlic over medium heat until browned.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper; remove from heat and let cool.
- In a bowl, combine flour and butter, then add cold water to form a dough.
- Roll out the dough and cut it into circles.
- Place a spoonful of the beef filling on one half of each circle.
- Fold the dough over and seal the edges, using a fork to crimp.
- Brush with beaten egg and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add diced olives or hard-boiled eggs to the beef mixture.
- Serve with chimichurri sauce for dipping.
