- 8 fillo pastry sheets
- 4 cups sliced apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Brush a baking dish with melted butter and layer 4 sheets of fillo, brushing each with butter.
- Add the apple mixture and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
- Layer the remaining fillo sheets on top, brushing with butter.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add some vanilla extract to the apple filling.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert.
