- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onions and celery until softened.
- Mix in the diced apples, bread crumbs, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Slowly add chicken broth until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
- Stuff the turkey with the apple and onion mixture and secure the opening.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for 3 to 4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Remove the foil during the last hour of cooking to brown the skin.
- Ensure the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest before carving and serving.
