- 2 pounds lamb, cut into pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
- Add the lamb pieces and brown on all sides.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Add water and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour.
- Transfer the lamb to a baking dish.
- Mix yogurt with parsley and spread it over the lamb.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the lamb is tender.
Notes
- Serve with bread or rice for a complete meal.
- For a stronger flavor, marinate the lamb in yogurt and spices overnight before cooking.
