Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lamb, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
  3. Add the lamb pieces and brown on all sides.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Add water and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour.
  6. Transfer the lamb to a baking dish.
  7. Mix yogurt with parsley and spread it over the lamb.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the lamb is tender.

Notes

  • Serve with bread or rice for a complete meal.
  • For a stronger flavor, marinate the lamb in yogurt and spices overnight before cooking.
