Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. If using, add the vanilla extract. Stir until a dough forms.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 1 minute until smooth.
- Roll the dough out to about ½-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters (one larger and one smaller) to cut out donut shapes.
- Place the donuts on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden.
- Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter donut, add 2 tablespoons of sugar or a sugar substitute to the dough.
- Try adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor, or top with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
